Spring
Spring is busy and for good reason. Mild temperatures, lengthening days and the end of winter make it a popular time to plan exterior work. It is also storm season, so schedules can slip with rain and wind and crews book up early after severe weather.
Book in late winter to claim a spot in the spring calendar. Early planning also gives you time to order materials and get HOA approvals.
Summer
Summer gives long days and dry stretches, but heat and humidity slow crews and affect some materials. Vinyl expands in the heat and must be hung loose, and paint and caulk have temperature limits for curing.
Crews typically start early to beat the heat. Afternoon thunderstorms are common, so open walls are protected at the end of every day.
Fall
Fall is often ideal. Temperatures are comfortable, humidity drops and storms are fewer. Paint and caulk cure well, and the house is sealed before winter weather arrives.
Demand rises in September and October, so scheduling a few weeks ahead helps. Late fall can still work for most materials.
Winter
Winter work is possible in Middle Tennessee because freezing weather is not constant. Vinyl is more brittle in the cold and needs careful handling. Caulks and paints have minimum temperature ranges, so some finishing is saved for warmer days.
Winter can be a good time to get on a crew schedule, and a sealed house is better prepared for spring storms.
After a storm
After hail or wind damage, crews get busy fast. Document damage, call your insurer if you have a claim and arrange temporary protection for any open walls. Scheduling the permanent repair may take a few weeks.
If you are not in a rush, waiting a little after a major storm can mean less demand and easier scheduling.
Planning around your life
Weddings, graduations, listings and other events can shape the schedule. Tell us your dates and we will plan backward from them.
The best time is when the walls need it, the weather cooperates and you are ready. A conversation will help find the right window.
Fall and spring are the favorites, but good crews work year round, so start planning as soon as you notice a problem.
