Siding Trim, Soffit and Gutter Estimator

Count corners, windows and doors, soffit and gutters to plan the trim, J-channel, soffit panels, fascia and caulk you will need.

These tools give planning-level estimates from typical values and the details you enter. They are not quotes, designs or engineering, and results depend on your actual house, wall condition, access, weather, site conditions and local rules. Only a site visit can confirm what a project needs, and we give you a written scope and price before any work begins.

How it works

Four quick steps.

  1. 01

    Count the corners

Outside and inside corners, and the height of your walls.

  2. 02

    Count the openings

Windows, doors and garage doors that need trim or J-channel.

  3. 03

    Add the roof edge

Eave length, overhang depth and gutters.

  4. 04

    Read the list

Corner posts, trim pieces, soffit, fascia and caulk to plan for.

Tips

  • Wider trim boards and built-up trim use more material.
  • Vented soffit helps attic airflow, so plan vents with every soffit job.
  • Measure the roof edge from the ground or a photo, then confirm on site.
Questions

About this tool.

Why are my numbers different from my supplier?

Profiles, board lengths and waste differ. Use this as a planning list and confirm with a measured takeoff.

How long are trim pieces?

Many are ten or twelve feet. The tool uses common lengths.

Do I need a downspout at every corner?

Not necessarily. One downspout per thirty to forty feet of gutter is a common starting point.

Is this a quote?

No. It is a planning list. We measure and confirm on site.
