Cover bare block, crawl space openings and exposed foundations with durable skirting and trim that blend with your siding.
The strip between the ground and the bottom of the siding is often neglected. Bare block, cracked parge coat, rusty vents and loose lattice make an otherwise handsome house look tired, and they let pests, leaves and moisture into the crawl space. Skirting and foundation wraps close that gap with durable panels, trim or stone-look coverings that complete the look of the siding.
We install vinyl, PVC, fiber cement or composite skirting with proper ventilation and access panels for the crawl space, and we keep the bottom edge clear of the soil to prevent wicking and rot. Foundation wraps in stone or brick-look panels cover ugly concrete or block and add a wainscot effect. We also flash the top edge where it meets the siding and discuss drainage so water is not trapped behind the skirting.
Vents and access panels are kept where they are needed, so the crawl space can breathe and stay serviceable.
Bottom edges are held off the soil so they do not wick moisture or rot.
Panel and veneer wraps give the base of the house a masonry look without the cost of full masonry.
The top edge is flashed and trimmed where it meets the siding so water drains away.
